The ANZ jobs survey released today reveals that the number of newspaper job advertisements in South Australia has plummeted by 6.4 per cent in August- the largest fall of any State.

 

Shadow Minister for Employment David Pisoni said today that this was more bad news for the Rann Government ahead of a horror budget to be handed down next week.

 

“Job opportunities are continuing to fall under Rann Labor with job advertisements down 23 per cent since this time last year.

 

“There will be no consolation for South Australians in next week’s budget where we can expect to see jobs slashed and huge cuts to front line services.

 

“Premier Rann’s election pledge to create 100,000 new jobs over the next six years is looking increasingly unlikely with more and more South Australians looking for work when the jobs just aren’t there.
 
“Meanwhile Premier Rann and Treasurer Foley are overseas when they should be dealing with problems at home,” Mr Pisoni said.
