Isobel visits Mount Gambier

Leader of the Opposition Isobel Redmond and the Liberal Parliamentary Team will be holding its annual Parliamentary Seminar in Mount Gambier on the 9th and 10th of February.

The seminar provides an opportunity for the Liberal Opposition to discuss strategies leading up to the 2014 election.

Liberal Shadow Ministers will also talk to local businesses and people of the South-East about the issues affecting them. They will also visit various organisations in the area including local health care services, the South-East Local Government Association, the Mount Gambier Prison, community centres and representatives of the local tourism industry.

“There are a number of issues affecting people in the South-East including funding cuts to country hospitals, the sale of the forestry assets and the State’s poor economic situation,” Ms Redmond said.

“After almost a decade of this Labor Government, South Australian households across the State are suffering from ever-increasing cost of living pressures and South Australian businesses are burdened with poor economic conditions and the highest taxes in Australia.”

Ms Redmond has been a regular visitor to the South-East region since becoming a Member of Parliament, and even more so since becoming Leader of the Opposition. 

“I’m looking forward to talking with people in the South-East again and listening to their concerns,” Ms Redmond said.

“The Liberals are committed to meeting with and listening to what South Australians want for their communities, which is in stark contrast to this arrogant Labor Government.

“The Weatherill Labor Government is disconnected from ordinary South Australians while the Liberal team is out and about, on the front foot, listening and standing up for all South Australians.”
