Business confidence plummets under Labor

Posted on February 24, 2011

The Rann Labor Government is under siege with only 4 per cent of South Australian small businesses supporting Labor’s policies.

According to the latest Sensis Business Index released today a staggering 40 per cent of businesses say Labor’s policies work against them.

The quarterly survey shows South Australia now has the second worst business confidence of all states – second only to flood and cyclone ravaged Queensland.

Shadow Minister for Small Business Steven Griffiths said South Australian small and medium businesses are pessimistic about the future for business in South Australia under Labor.

“Under this tired Labor Government business confidence had plummeted to nearly ten percentage points below the national average,” Mr Griffiths said.

“Exports are also a grave concern with only 3 per cent of South Australian firms exporting goods and services compared to a national average of 14 per cent.

“South Australia is the highest taxed state in the nation and Labor is stifling jobs growth and holding businesses back.
“The business community has rightly lost faith in Labor’s economic management.”
